Announcement

in the upcoming Webinar titled “Rethinking Workforce Training for Low-Income
Mons.” Although this event is not hosted by DOL/ETA, SWFI grantees may be
interested in attending. This is an external Webinar event not hosted on WorkforeGPS
and grantees should register at the link provided.
Register here to join the National Women's Law Center on Tuesday, October 10, 2017
from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. ET for a webinar about “Rethinking Workforce Training for Low-Income Moms.”
Single moms work, but gender inequity and the lack of affordable child care
leave them unable to work their way into economic security. This webinar will
provide a brief overview of what we know about child care supports for parents
needing education and training, and discuss a new job training model that
couples access to child care with workforce training in higher-paying but
traditionally male-dominated jobs like construction.
